President’s Corner

Pinkey Carter - President

On behalf of the over 200 members of the Orangeburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., we welcome you to our webpage. In addition to information regarding our history, you will find our activities and programs the members are engaged in to fulfill the commitment of the 22 women who founded this dynamic organization on January 13, 1913 on the campus of Howard University.

Within the South Atlantic Region, Orangeburg Alumnae Chapter was chartered as Alpha Tau Sigma Chapter on July 12, 1943. Over these years the members have strengthen our “sisterhood” in the continuous service for the Calhoun and Orangeburg counties. Through the development and implementation of activities and programs we embrace the “five-point programmatic thrust” Educational Development, Economic Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement.

Again, we welcome and thank you for your interest in our illustrious organization. Please visit us regularly to learn more about our upcoming programs, events or service project.

In the spirit of Sisterhood and Service,’
Pinkey Carter
