The Arts/Letters of the Orangeburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is established to enhance sorority members and public awareness about the performance art and literacy. The Arts/Letters have partner and collaborated with local universities, elementary schools, and businesses to enhance sorority members’ knowledge about the performance art through art galleries, music and theater. Also, through literacy such as poetry, book clubs, and reading to elementary school students.

Annually, the Arts/Letters support 13 elementary schools’ media centers, which are located throughout Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties, through its Read Across America Campaign. Each year books are donated on behalf of the sorority and local bookstore to elementary schools to be catalog for the purpose to enhance children literacy. Members of the sorority read at each elementary school to promote reading. The Arts/Letters is committed to increasing the sorority’s awareness, knowledge and activities in performance art and literacy.
